The CACT, among the ‘Best digital ideas’ of the year for Expansión
The minister for Tourism of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and others responsible for the CACTs travelled to Madrid last Thursday to receive the award ’50 best digital ideas’, in the category ‘Digital institutions’, granted by the newspaper Expansión to projects and institutions that stand out for its originality, its market vision and its contribution of value to society.
With this award, the economics publication recognizes the efforts made by the Centers to adapt their processes and services to the new digital economy and thus putting it at the service of the visitor.
The key aspect about this development for the jury has been the role played by the Customer Experience department, which has developed an active listening process in social networks and specialized travel pages, as well as placing iPads and QR codes in centers and events in order for the visitors to offer their evaluation of the service and to be able to redesign the guidelines of tourism based on the requests of the citizens.
Hackathon, the starting point of the Lanzarote Cognitive Tourist Challenge that led to the development of the mobile application of the CACT presented on 17th of October, and the creation and development of the new website of the CACT (cactlanzarote.com) are other elements especially highlighted by a jury that values such aspects as the compelling nature of ideas, innovation, the integration of digital channels within corporate strategy, the impact on society and the potential of new business models.
More than 450 projects have competed in this second edition of these awards, which has been sponsored by Telefónica, Ferrovial, Banco Santander and Deloitte Digital / Salesforce.
