4 blue flags on the beaches of Puerto del Carmen

  |   Business

Over 4 kilometres of coastline of Puerto del Carmen have been rewarded for the quality of its waters, good service, accessibility and commitment to environmental information: Playa Grande, Matagorda, Los Pocillos and Playa Chica.

The Blue Flag is a badge awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education which rewards the quality of water, accessibility for the disabled and the existence of information services, cleaning, health and rescue. And once again, the entire coast of the municipality has been awarded blue flags, an award highly valued not only by residents but also by tourists who visit us.

This environmental award is recognition of the efforts made each year to maintain the cleanliness of our beaches, care for the environment and eliminate all barriers.

The criteria for awarding the blue flags are internationally increasingly demanding, so we are very pleased that the entire coastline of beaches in the municipality, more than four kilometres, has again been awarded blue flags.
