Lanzarote cactus burger anyone?

  |   Lanzarote Food, Lanzarote Information

Lanzarote have created their very own Cactus burger – A healthy burger which contains 50% tunera cactus (Prickly pear plant), as well as corn, potato and onion and is served with goats yogurt mayo, smoked cheese and rocket on a tomato bread bun.

Tunera is something of a super food as it boasts a whole load of antioxidants and health benefits.

This innovative food creation is now available in the cafe at Jardín de Cactus (The Cactus Gardens).  Jardín de Cactus has around 4,500 specimens of 450 different species, of 13 different families of cactus from the five continents and is well worth a visit.
